Placement Testing:

It is mandatory that all new students take a placement test covering English and Math during the Freshman Orientation Week. Test results are used to determine the appropriate communication and Math courses as the test dictates.
International Students:
International Students are welcome and encourage to apply for admission to the institute. Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit test results from the Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The application, complete and official scholastic records indicating graduation date, national certificates, transcripts and other relevant documents must be submitted along with the TOEFL scores.  A certified Affidavit of sponsorship must be submitted at least sixty (60) days prior tot he beginning of the semester.

The affidavit of sponsorship must be certified by a bank, indicating sufficient funds and commitment to the students throughout his/her studies at TCIPS. The certificate must be notarized for authenticity and sent directly to the General Office.
Transfer Students:

An applicant is considered a transfer student when he/she has attended a recognized tertiary institution.  The transfer applicant for admission should submit a TCIPS application form, the non-refundable application fee and official transcripts through the time of application. The final transcript must reflect all completed academic work must be given at the time of enrollment. Students' copy of transcript is not accepted.

All applicants for transfer must be in good standing with the last institution they attended.  All previous academic work must be submitted whether or not credit can be transfered, and regardless of whether there is a desire to transfer credits from another institution.

In order for admission into the Associate degree program the candidate must have at least a 2.0 grade point average or better to be considered. If the applicant has less than 30 transferable credits their admission into the associate degree program will be determined by their college and high school transcripts.  Only grades of C or better will be considered for evaluation/credit.

The Institute has the rights to accept only course that meets the academic standards established by the Institute. The academic board will acceptance of courses submitted by a student for credit. The maximum number of credits accepted from another institution is 30 semester hours.

All students must meet the Institute English proficiency requirement prior to graduation, and complete an internship. The last 30 hours of a student's Associate degree program must be at the Institute. 

The official transcript from each institution that the applicant attended must be sent directly to the General Office. Failure to submit transcripts may constitute sufficient cause for dismissal from the Institute.

Admission Philosophy

The Institute welcomes students of all races , creeds and national origin. The policy of the institute is to enroll applicants who are best qualified to participate effectively and creatively in life of the total community. The admissions decisions are based on past academic achievement as well potential for successful completion of one of the institution's courses of study.  Also considered are the applicants success in the college entrance exam, participation in high school and community activities, talents, interests, motivation, and industry experience for matured students. The Registrar's office will notify applicants in writing within three weeks after all requirements credentials have been received.

The institute serve the rights to grant or deny admission to any applicants on the basis of criteria outlined below.
Persons who are interested in attending TCIPS should full out the TCIPS Application form, bring the required documents in order for the registration process to be completed.

The institute requires that all students for the Bachelors Degree the complete or meet the requirements of the Associates degree to be considered for the Bachelors degree.

Associate Degree programs must have five CXC's including English and Math with at least a C grade.

Diploma program student are required to have at least 3 CXC's including Math and English.

Students applying for the Certificate program and Educational Institute of AHLA Certificate and Diploma programs are required to meet certain admission requirements, but no CXC required. Those also applying for AHLA Professional Certification programs must also meet specific requirement. More information on AHLA programs are available at the General Office. 

Students without CXC or GCE would need to start at a certificate level. If they wish to progress to a higher degree level, students must maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.6. Matured students can apply by completing a portfolio. Matured students are persons over 21 years old, and more than three years related work experience.
